Canon, CO : Woman dies after two-vehicle accident in Chaffee County on Saturday, June 25, 2016
One woman is dead after a crash between a motorcycle and vehicle Saturday in Chaffee County.
According to a news release from the Colorado State Patrol, the driver and passenger of a Harley Davidson were ejected after swerving to avoid a Mitsubishi Endeaver.
Donald Vsetecka, 70, of Green Mountain Falls was the driver of the motorcycle and a 57-year-old of Green Mountain Falls was the passenger, who was pronounced deceased on-scene. Neither was wearing their helmets.
Next of kin notification is still pending, the news release said.
The man was taken to the Heart of the Rockies Hospital in Salida.
The motorcycle was traveling southbound on Colorado 285 when it swerved to avoid the Mitsubishi Endeaver, who was moving from a stop sign westbound on Chaffee CR 140.
The Mitsubishi stopped in the middle of Colo. 285 and the motorcycle rolled ¼ times on its left side.
Adrian Flores, 17, of Northglenn was the driver of the Mitsubishi.
Flores and two passengers were wearing seatbelts and were not injured. Flores has been cited for careless driving causing death.
Speed, alcohol and drugs are not factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by CSP.
