Senecaville, OH : Fugitive in critical condition after crash in Guernsey County on Thursday afternoon, March 24, 2016

A wanted felon from Louisiana remained in critical condition at a Columbus hospital after crashing the vehicle he was driving while being pursued by Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers in southern Guernsey County Thursday afternoon.

Authorities declined to release the identity of the man following the crash on Route 313 east of Senecaville just before 4:30 p.m.

The man reportedly suffered serious head trauma when he was partially ejected from the vehicle as it overturned multiple times near the Seneca Lake Marina. He remained hospitalized at Ohio Health's Grant Medical Center.

Charges are pending against the suspect.

According to Cambridge Post Commander Lt. James Tracy, Tpr. Scott Bayless was on routine patrol when he checked the license plate on the vehicle driven by the Louisiana resident near mile post 176 on Interstate 70 and discovered he was a wanted felon.
