OLD WASHINGTON, OH : I-70 rollover crash injures two in tractor-trailer on Saturday, March 4th 2017
A rollover crash involving a tractor-trailer traveling on Interstate 70 Saturday morning injured the two occupants of the truck and closed a portion of the interstate while crews cleared the roadway.
The names of the driver and passenger were not available as of press time.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Cambridge post reported the two suffered minor injuries in the crash at approximately 7:23 a.m. although both had to be extricated from the heavily-damaged truck.
According to reports, multiple 911 calls reporting the accident were received at the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office. Details regarding how the accident occurred were not available from the highway patrol.
Emergency responders from United Ambulance, Old Washington Volunteer Fire Department, highway patrol and the sheriff's office were dispatched to the scene near mile post 186.Medical personnel from United and Old Washington transported the injured to Southeastern Med in Cambridge. No further information regarding their injuries or conditions was available as of press time.
The truck was reportedly owned by Penske Trucking. It sustained extensive damage before coming to rest on its side.
The accident remained under investigation by the patrol's Cambridge post.
