Kentwood, LA : Woman died after hit by car on Thursday December 24 2015

Investigators said a woman died after she was hit by a car as she walked on a dark highway late Thursday night.
Louisiana State Police identified the victim as Kristi Allen, 35, of Kenner.
Troopers reported the crash happened on LA 38 west of LA 1050 near Kentwood around 11 p.m.
Tpr. Dustin Dwight with LSP said Allen was walking in one of the lanes of the highway when she was hit. He added the area where the crash happened is rural with no street lights and light rain was falling at the time.
According to reports, Allen was taken to St. Helena Parish Hospital in critical condition and later died.
Troopers said the driver of the car voluntarily provided a breath sample and it showed no sign of alcohol. The driver was not cited.
Blood samples were taken from Allen and sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
