SHREVEPORT, LA : Caddo deputies investigate fatal crash on Monday, 10th June 2024

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly crash that happened Monday on Highway 1 north between Scarpengo Road and Roy Road Extension.

Deputies were called to the scene of the multi-vehicle crash just before 5:30 p.m. They said the driver of a silver Chevy truck traveling south crossed into the opposite lane, colliding head-on with a Ford Edge and side-swiping a Toyota Camry.

The driver of the Ford, Donna Nelson, 65, from DeQuincy, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevy sustained internal injuries and was rushed to Ochsner LSU Health by Life Air. The driver of the Camry sustained minor injuries and was taken to Willis-Knighton Bossier by Fire District 1.

Both northbound lanes were closed while the scene was cleared.
