A 37-year-old Ocean County man was found dead in his vehicle after it crashed and caught fire in the township Friday afternoon.
Police said first responders found the vehicle on Rancocas Road near Route 295 engulfed in flames at about 4 p.m. After extinguishing the fire, they found the male dead inside the vehicle. No other vehicles were involved.
Authorities are withholding identification of the man pending notification of his next of kin.
The accident remains under investigation and police ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Westampton Township police Lt. Ferguson at 609-267-3000 ext. 154.
