Albion, NY : Several students injured after sport utility vehicle crashed into the side of a western New York elementary school on Monday afternoon, April 4, 2016

Authorities say a sport utility vehicle crashed into the side of a western New York elementary school, injuring several students.

The Orleans County Sheriff's Office said at least five students were taken to hospitals with minor injuries after the SUV crashed into a third-grade classroom at an Albion elementary school on Monday afternoon.

Officials say the vehicle's driver suffered a medical issue and crashed into another car before hitting the school. Police say the SUV went about two feet into the building.

The driver was also taken to a hospital.

No charges have been filed. The crash remains under investigation.
