Two motorcyclists died and a 5-year-old suffered life threatening injuries in two crashes in Baltimore County on Wednesday, according to police.
The incidents prompted Baltimore County police to warn drivers to be “vigilant” looking for motorcycles, particularly given the warming weather.
The first crash occurred on Falls Road at Butler Road around 2 p.m. when a motorcycle traveling northbound on Falls struck the back of another vehicle that pulled out in front of him, police said. The driver of the motorcycle, identified as 18-year-old Daniel John Mangold of the 2900 block of Southwestern Ave. in Manchester, died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene.
The second crash happened around 5 p.m. According to police, a motorcycle was traveling north on York Road near Murdock Road when a car with three occupants turned left in front of the motorcycle, resulting in the crash.
