Platteville, WI : 26-year-old Zachary L. Shawano died in crash after pickup truck and dump truck collision on Friday morning ,March 20th 2015

An Iowa County car crash on Highway G at Turnbull Road near Platteville left a 26-year-old man dead, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.


Wisconsin State Patrol said in a release that at 9:40 a.m. Friday, a pickup truck driven by Zachary L. Shawano of Crandon was traveling northbound on County Road G crossed over into the southbound lane of traffic. The truck continued toward the shoulder into the path of a dump truck driven by Rodney Radtke, 57, of Mineral Point. Radtke attempted to evade the pickup, but the vehicles collided, according to the report.

Shawano was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iowa County coroner. Radtke was not injured.

Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
