Auburndale, FL : Haines City man killed in two-car crash in Auburndale on Saturday, 21st July 2018

A Haines City man died Saturday after a car wreck in Auburndale.
About 11:55 a.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported deputies and Polk County Fire Rescue responded to K-Ville Avenue near Sun Acres Boulevard.
According to Carrie Horstman, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, Jamall Shell, 28, of Myrtle Street in Haines City, was driving his 2001 Nissan Sentra east on K-Ville Avenue when he appeared to have lost control while navigating a curve on the road. He slid into the path of a 2002 Chrysler Sebring convertible going west, driven by Latesha Davis, 31, of Lake Shipp Court, Winter Haven.
Horstman stated Davis was unable to avoid striking Shell and her vehicle crashed into the passenger side of his Sentra. Shell was transported to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Davis and her front seat passenger, Janita Commings, 30, of Winter Haven, were not significantly injured.
All parties were wearing their seat belts and airbags in both vehicles deployed. Horstman said speed and rain appear to have been factors in the accident.
No charges are pending and the roadways were closed for approximately three hours during the investigation.
