Carlton County, MN : 1 dead, 1 injured in Carlton County crash on Monday, 30th August 2021
One man is dead and another critically injured after a single-vehicle car crash in Carlton County on Monday morning.
At 12:18 a.m., the Carlton County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a truck that had left the road when traveling south on the 200 block of Thomson Road.
The passenger, Cuong Hang, 38, of Gretna, La., was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck and died, the sheriff's office said.
The driver, Hung Hang, 39, also of Gretna, La., was "critically injured" and transported to Essentia Health in Duluth, the sheriff's office said. It is not yet known if the injured driver was wearing a seat belt.
The crash is under investigation by the sheriff's office and Minnesota State Patrol.
