Medina, OH : 2 county chase leads to crash in Wadsworth on Thursday, 21st June 2018
A 30-year-old Lodi man led police on a chase through two counties Thursday morning before crashing into a semi-truck in Wadsworth, authorities said.
Medina County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ken Baca said Strongsville police clocked Michael Graham, of the
600 block Highland Drive, driving “at a high rate of speed” on Interstate 71 southbound in Cuyahoga County at about 3 a.m.
“They attempted to stop (Graham) and it wound up turning into a pursuit,” Baca said.
“They chased them into our county and they got off at state Route 18.”
Baca said Strongsville police observed Graham driving west when they eventually “lost him.”
Shortly thereafter, a Medina County sheriff’s deputy on patrol recognized a vehicle matching the description of Graham’s Lincoln MKZ at the Sunoco station on the circle in Litchfield.
“While he was obtaining more information on it, and then attempted to stop it, (Graham) took off on him,” Baca said.
He said the deputy pursued Graham south on state Route 83 through Lodi and then Homerville.
“Once they had the plates and had positive identification on the vehicle, they terminated the pursuit,” Baca said. “The plan then was to obtain the warrant and go back to his house and make the arrest there.”
While deputies were at Graham’s residence, he returned and police pursed him for the third time, Baca said.
