ANDERSON, SC : Fire truck driver charged after crashing into vehicle while en route to Anderson Co. fire on Sunday, 30th October 2016

An Upstate fire department was involved in an accident while responding to the scene of a fire Sunday afternoon.

The Grove Fire Department was involved in the incident which occurred on Highway 187 at Brown Road about 4 miles from Starr.

According to a Highway Patrol trooper, no injuries were reported in the car vs. firetruck crash.

The call came in at 5:20 p.m.

According to reports, the driver of the vehicle was wearing a seat belt when the fire truck swerved left of the center line and side swept the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was not injured in the incident.

The driver of the fire truck was also wearing a seat belt during the crash and was not injured. He was charged with driving left of center.
