Greer, SC : Driver pronounced dead after striking multiple trees in Upstate on Monday September 5 2016

Highway Troopers report that an Upstate man has died as a result of striking several trees in Greer on Monday.

The incident occurred at about 6:15 a.m. on Mt. View Road near Fews Bridge Road, eight miles north of Greer.

According to trooper reports, the driver was not seat belted and was entrapped. Troopers said the driver was pronounced dead on scene.

Fifty-six-year-old Dennis Carroll Arledge of Greer, died of blunt force trauma, according to the coroner.

Troopers said the Arledge was traveling West on Fews Bridge Road in a white pickup truck when he and traveled across Mt. View Road onto private property and struck multiple trees, resulting in the fatal injuries.

The case is still under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner's Office.
