Belvidere,IL : Belvidere man who died in farm accident identified on April, Monday 30th 2018

Boone County Coroner Rebecca Wigget has identified Gary Yerk, 72, of Belvidere as the man killed Monday in a farm accident in the 18000 block of Beaverton Road in rural Boone County.

Boone County sheriff’s deputies responded at 8:50 p.m. and discovered that a large mowing attachment had fallen on him.

Preliminary cause of death is compressional asphyxia, Wigget said. Foul play is not suspected, she said. An investigation is ongoing by her office as well as the sheriff’s office, she said.
