Pentland Township, MI : 3 injured in head-on crash in Pentland Township of Luce County on Thursday, 12th December, 2019
Three people were hospitalized after a head-on crash in Pentland Township.
The Michigan State Police investigated a personal injury crash on Dec. 12 in Pentland Township of Luce County.
At approximately 3:26 p.m. troopers and officers from the MSP Sault Ste. Marie Post and deputies from the Luce County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle head-on collision on M-117 near the Luce and Mackinac County line.
The northbound vehicle was driven by Eric Nalette, of Newberry. The southbound vehicle was driven by Derek Orban and occupied by Jeramie Schultz, both of Alpena.
Both Nalette and Orban to be trapped inside their vehicles and Schultz was able to exit the vehicle.
All three individuals had injuries. Nalette and Schultz were responsive. Orban was unresponsive and appeared to have potential life-threatening injuries. All individuals were transported to Helen Newberry Joy Hospital for treatment. After initial assessment Orban and Schultz were transported to UP Health Systems in Marquette for further treatment of potential life-threatening injuries. Orban remains in critical condition. The crash remains under investigation.
