SYLACAUGA, AL : 2 die in 3 vehicle accident near Sylacauga on Saturday, 29th October 2016

Alabama State Trooper says two people died in a three-vehicle crash eight miles north of Sylacauga.

The accident happened late Saturday afternoon on Alabama Highway 21.

43-year-old James Ragsdale was driving an SUV when he collided with a pickup.

Daniel says Ragsdale was not wearing a seatbelt and pronounced dead at the scene.

He says a 73-year-old passenger in the pickup was also pronounced dead at the scene. She was identified as Elizabeth Smith, of Talladega.

Daniel said she was not wearing a seatbelt.

He did not release any information on the third vehicle.

Daniel says a preliminary investigation showed alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, but troopers are continuing to investigate.
