Harrisburg, PA : Motorcycle rider in deadly crash wasn't wearing helmet on Sunday, February 19th 2017

The 32-year-old man who died Sunday in a Lehigh County motorcycle accident has been identified.

John D. Watt, of the 6300 block of Hunsicker Road in Heideilberg Township, was pronounced dead at 4:58 p.m. on his block after he crashed the motorcycle just after 4 p.m., county Coroner Scott Grim said.Watt was not wearing a helmet or other protective gear when he wrecked the Kawasaki KZ1100, Pennsylvania State Police said. Watt died from head injuries and his death was ruled an accident, Grim said.

Watt was thrown from the bike and he hit a tree, state police said. The bike also struck the tree.

The fuel tank ruptured and a brush fired flared at 6338 Hunsicker Road, state police said.

Germansville Fire Department No. 10 and Northern Valley EMS assisted.
