Chicago, IL : 79-year-old woman dies one month after Aurora crash on Saturday, 22nd October 2016

A 79-year-old woman has died more than one month after she was injured in a single-vehicle crash in west suburban Aurora.

Patricia Tooley left her home in the 2200 block of Garden Road in unincorporated Aurora at 10:50 a.m. Sept. 22 and was driving west on Garden when the vehicle accelerated, left the road and struck a tree, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and Kane County sheriff’s office.Tooley was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, and later transferred to a nursing home in the 5400 block of West 87th Streetin Burbank, where she died at 11:44 p.m. Sunday, according to the sheriff’s and medical examiner’s offices.

An autopsy Thursday found she died of complications of multiple injuries from a vehicle striking a fixed object, and heart disease was listed as a contributing factor, according to the medical examiner’s office. Her death was ruled an accident.
