Hingham, MA : One man killed and one seriously injured in two-vehicle crash on Route 3A in Hingham on Monday, March 21, 2016
A crash involving an SUV and a pickup truck results in the death of a driver and left one passenger with life-threatening injuries.
Hingham police said a 2000 Ford Ranger pick-up truck was traveling north on Kilby Street and entered onto Route 3A when it collided with a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder traveling west.
The Nissan struck the passenger side of the Ford, causing the pick-up truck to spin and roll onto its passenger side and into a small fence on Kilby St.
The driver of the Ford, a 51-year-old Quincy man, was partially ejected and was pronounced dead at South Shore hospital. His passenger, a 61-year-old Quincy man, suffered life-threatening injuries and is being treated at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Police said both men were not wearing their seat belts.
The driver of the Nissan, a 43-year-old Marshfield woman, suffered minor injuries and declined to be taken to a hospital.
Charges have not been filed and the crash remains under investigation by Hingham police with assistance from state police.
Police do not suspect weather to have been a factor. All roads were opened at 2 p.m.
