Pembroke Park,FL : Pedestrian hit by car, injured in Pembroke Pines on September, Sunday 24th 2017

A 19-year-old pedestrian was injured Sunday morning when she was hit by a car in Pembroke Pines, police said.

Laura Canaveral was walking at about 1:30 a.m. in the 9100 block of Lime Tree Lane when she was struck by a 2014 Nissan, police said.

She sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident and was taken to Memorial Hospital West.

The 23-year-old driver was uninjured in the crash.

Police said the crash was an "unfortunate accident," and not the result of any criminal activity.
