Markham, IL : Beardstown man killed in one-vehicle accident near Route 104 and Route 67 outside of Meredosia on Sunday, 15th December, 2019

A Beardstown man was killed in a single-vehicle accident near Route 104 and Route 67 outside of Meredosia Sunday morning.

Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies were summoned to the scene around 4 a.m. after a passer-by called in the incident.

The vehicle of Mark A. “Tony” Schwalb had struck a utility pole on the passenger’s side, according to Morgan County Sheriff Mike Carmody, reached by phone Monday.

Schwalb, 54, was partially ejected from the vehicle. EMS and rescue squad from Meredosia got Schwalb away from the electrical lines, Carmody said, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
