QUEENSBURY, NY : Another bicyclist charged after collision with car on Monday, March 6th 2017
A Hudson Falls man was hurt and got a ticket Thursday after he was hit by a vehicle while riding a bicycle on Dix Avenue, police said.
Joseph W. Ward, 45, was taken to Glens Falls Hospital for non-life threatening injuries after the 2 p.m. crash at the intersection of Dix and Queensbury avenues, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Ward rode through a red light while heading west, and was hit by a sport-utility vehicle driven by Thomas Collier, 67, of Queensbury, police said. Collier was not hurt.
Ward was ticketed for improper operation of a bicycle. He is the second bicyclist ticketed by the Sheriff's Office after an accident in a week, as a man was ticketed after he was hit by a car while riding the wrong way on Upper Glen Street in Queensbury.
Sheriff's Patrol Officer William St. John handled Thursday's case.
