Brockton, MA : Pedestrian injured in Hanson accident on Saturday, March 25, 2017
A 22-year-old man was injured Saturday when he was struck by a vehicle while walking on Main Street.
Police responded to 252 Main St. (Route 27) around 5:45 p.m., for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Officers found a male lying on the road with serious injuries after being struck by a 2000 Mercedes Benz operated by a party from Maine.
Based on statements from both parties, according to a Hanson police statement, the pedestrian was in the middle of the road walking west when the Mercedes, also traveling west, struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was dressed in dark clothing.
Drugs, alcohol or speed do not appear to be factors in the crash. Hanson Fire transported the victim to South Shore Hospital.
The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department BCI Unit is assisting with the investigation."
