Phoenix, AZ : Motorcyclist killed in collision at Scottsdale intersection on Wednesday morning, February 8, 2017

A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with another vehicle late Wednesday morning in Scottsdale, police say.

Scottsdale police spokesman Kevin Watts said a car and motorcycle collided at the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Ashler Hills Drive. The motorcyclist, who has not been identified, was killed.

Watts did not offer any information about the other driver, citing an ongoing investigation. The exact cause of the collision was not immediately available.

The intersection was expected to remain closed through most of Wednesday afternoon.
