Farmington, NM : Two Gallup men killed in double motorcycle crash on Saturday September 3 2016
New Mexico State Police are investigating a double motorcycle crash that killed two Gallup men on Saturday south of Farmington.
Police believe 56-year-old Willy Roy Jr. and 43-year-old Abraham Vining were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, according to a press release from state police.
The crash occurred at about 4 p.m. at the intersection of Navajo Route 5 and N.M. Highway 371.
Police say an initial investigation indicates the men were riding in tandem on Navajo Route 5 when they both did not stop at a stop sign at the road's intersection with N.M. Highway 371, the release states.
According to police, both men crashed on the opposite site of the roadway.
Both drivers sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation.
