Ludington, MI : Motorcycle accident involved Denny, Peggy Grant on Walhalla Road Sunday afternoon, May 22, 2016
Dennis Michael Grant, 65, of Pere Marquette Township was seriously injured in a Sunday afternoon accident while he was riding a motorcycle on Walhalla Road.
The accident occurred at 5:06 p.m. Sunday when Grant was traveling southbound on Walhalla Road and came to a sharp turn at Kinney Road, where he reportedly lost control of his bike.
According to witnesses, both he and his wife, Margaret Irene Grant, who was riding on the back of the bike as a passenger, were ejected. Both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
First to arrive at the scene was an off-duty Kent County deputy and immediately upon arrival he began CPR on Denny Grant. Grant’s heartbeat was then reportedly restored until EMS units could arrive to take over the process. Grant was then worked on by Life EMS paramedics until an Aero Med helicopter could arrive on the scene to airlift him to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids.
Margaret Grant was taken to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
