1 dead after car crash in Chula Vista California
One person was killed Tuesday when a car crashed and then burst into flames in Chula Vista. 10News learned that the crash happened around 3 a.m. and authorities received a report of a car fire near East Palomar Street and Santa Alicia Avenue.
A witness told 10News that the vehicle was heading east on Palomar Street when the driver hit a tree. A witness pulled one person from the vehicle and medics conducted CPR.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Chula Vista police.East Palomar Street at Monarche Drive was shut down for several hours due to the crash.
