Sour Lake, TX : Man injured in rollover crash on Texas 105 in Hardin County on Thursday morning, September 22, 2016

An 80-year-old man was taken by helicopter to a hospital after a rollover crash Thursday morning along Texas 105 about two miles east of Sour Lake, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The man, from Plano, was traveling westbound in a Chevrolet Tahoe when his car drifted off the roadway and into a ditch, said Sgt. Stephanie Davis. After entering the ditch, the Tahoe struck a concrete culvert, went airborne and rolled over several times before coming to a rest.

Troopers believe the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, Davis said.

The man's condition is unknown, Davis said. He was taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

Despite delays earlier this morning, traffic is flowing normally again, Davis said.
