Waterloo, IA : One dead in a two-vehicle crash at Dysart and East Orange roads on Monday morning, July 11, 2016

Waterloo Police are investigating a fatal accident Monday morning at Dysart and East Orange roads.

Kenneth Bienfang, 87, of Denver, died from injuries in a two-vehicle crash that happened shortly before 10 a.m.

According to reports, Bienfang, who was driving a Ford Windstar, was heading north on Dysart Road. He stopped at the stop sign at East Orange Road and began to turn left and was struck by a Freightliner driven by Gerald Cox, 38, of Kentucky, who was southbound on Dysart Road and failed to stop at the stop sign.

Bienfang was transported to Covenant Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Freightliner received minor injuries and was cited for failing to stop at the stop sign.
