BUTLER COUNTY, MO : Driver killed in 2-vehicle crash on Tuesday, 1st October 2024

Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a serious two-vehicle crash in Butler County on Tuesday night.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, at around 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, they received a call from an individual who had recently reported their vehicle stolen.

The victim said that they were following their vehicle and were near the intersection of Highway 53 and Thomas Street.

Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Highway 53, where the vehicle was last observed. As officers arrived in the area, they met the vehicle traveling in the opposite direction at a high rate of speed, with its headlights off.
