CINCINNATI, OH : Hit-and-run that injured Elder High School teacher on Saturday, December, 9th 2017

The community is rallying around a veteran teacher at Elder High School hurt in a hit-skip while volunteering at a school event over the weekend.

Kayla Wilson hit Mark Klusman at Warsaw and Wilder avenues in East Price Hill around 11:20 a.m. Saturday, according to Cincinnati police.

Police said Wilson was operating her vehicle while under the influence of marijuana at an excessive speed, and struck Klusman and a parked vehicle.

Klusman, a computer science teacher, was leading a community cleanup with students, an alumni Facebook page reports.

He is in the ICU at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, the page states: "We ask for your prayers immediately."
