Fort Lauderdale, FL : Motorcyclist killed in early morning crash in West Palm Beach on Friday, November, 3rd 2017
A man driving a motorcycle died early Friday morning after colliding with a 2011 Toyota 4D in West Palm Beach, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
John Paul Hernandez, 48, was driving a 2008 Suzuki southbound on Haverhill Road in the outside lane just after 4 a.m., approaching Cypress Boulevard, said sheriff’s office spokeswoman Teri Barbera. Enis Dixon, 78, was driving her Toyota northbound on Haverhill Road in the left turn lane at the intersection of Cypress Boulevard.
There was a car in front of Hernandez, and when Dixon started to make the left hand turn, Hernandez changed into the inside lane, she said.
A “violent collision” occurred between the front of Hernandez’ motorbike and the right front corner of Dixon’s Toyota, Barbera said.
Hernandez, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from his bike. He was pronounced dead on the scene by fire rescue officials, she said.
Speed appears to have been a factor in the crash, she said.
