Chico, CA : Two drivers hurt in rollover crash in Chico on Tuesday, December, 26th 2017
Two drivers were injured in a car crash Tuesday morning on East Ninth Street at Highway 99 in Chico, police said.
The crash happened before noon when the driver of a white Mazda pickup was eastbound on Ninth Street and apparently ran a red light before getting struck broadside by a Nissan Rogue exiting Highway 99, Sgt. Todd Lefkowitz said.
The pickup overturned and came to rest on its roof in a crosswalk on the eastbound lanes of Ninth Street.
The driver of the pickup, Timothy Murphy, 63, suffered cuts and bruises but was otherwise OK.
The driver of the Nissan, Tatiana Loza, 21, suffered minor to moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
No arrests or citations were expected.
The eastbound lanes of Ninth Street were partially blocked at the scene for a period while police investigated.
