Two drivers hurt in crash at Curtis and Plymouth streets

A 20-year-old Boise man was hospitalized with serious injuries after firefighters extricated him from the four-door Honda he was driving.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 37-year-old Boise man, was also taken to a local hospital. Boise police officers were unsure of the extent of his injuries, according to a police report.

The Honda struck the passenger side of a Ford Expedition at the intersection at 6:47 p.m, police said. The Ford then hit a traffic signal and nearly struck a pedestrian waiting to cross the street with his dog.

Police said it appears the driver of the Expedition, who was headed south on Curtis and was turning left onto Plymouth, failed to yield to the Honda. Officers believe alcohol may have been involved.

Curtis Road was closed to traffic for about an hour.

The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been field.
