Michigan City,IN : Juvenile and mother arrested in car vs. child crash on September, Thursday 21th 2017

Michigan City Police have arrested a juvenile driver and his mother in connection to a crash involving a child by the Marsh Elementary School playground Thursday.
According to Sgt. Greg Jesse of the Michigan City Police Department, the driver of the car has been identified as a 16-year-old boy. The victim was an elementary school-aged girl from Michigan City. The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Oak and Belden streets in Michigan City.

The girl was transported to Franciscan Health-Michigan City, and was then scheduled to be airlifted to another facility due to the extent of her injuries. Information on her injuries has yet to be released.
The details of the crash are still being sorted out, and the case is still under investigation.
