A 79-year-old Marlow woman was killed and another woman was taken to a hospital with critical injuries after a crash Saturday morning near Duncan, officials said.
Rebecca Schmidt, 51, was driving west on Chestnut Avenue near Duncan around 10:50 a.m. when her vehicle went left of center, striking a 1999 Lincoln, according to an accident report. Officials do not know why Schmidt's
vehicle went into the eastbound lane.
The driver of the Lincoln, identified as Wanda Hudson, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Schmidt was pinned in her vehicle for about an hour and taken to OU Medical Center in critical condition.
Investigators with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol are working to determine what caused the crash.
