Two people were flown to a local hospital Wednesday night following a two-car, head-on crash in the 600 block of New London Road, near Badin High School, according to Hamilton police.
Two medical helicopters landed behind Badin High School, then flew the victims to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, police said.
A 2001 Chrysler, driven by Joseph Maffeo, 24, of Hamilton, went left on center on New London Road, striking a car driven by Andrea Kuhlmann, 55, of Hamilton, about 7 p.m., police said.
Maffeo’s vehicle continued east bound, veered off the side of the road, down an embankment and caught fire, trapping the driver and his passenger, said Sgt. Brian Robinson of the Hamilton police department.
Kuhlmann’s vehicle went off the right side of the road and stuck a guard rail, police said.
Maffeo and his passenger, Tiffany Boyd, 28, of Hamilton, were flown to UC Medical Center with unknown injuries. Kuhlmann was transported to West Chester Hospital with unknown injuries.
Kuhlmann was wearing her seat belt, police said. Boyd wasn’t wearing her seat belt and it’s unclear whether Maffeo was wearing his seat belt, police said.
New London Road was closed between Jerdan Lane and Hogan Drive at least two hours for the accident investigation, according to police.
