Red Bluff, CA : Two killed in vehicle vs. motorcycle accident on Sunday, 24th November, 2019

Two people were killed Sunday evening when they were ejected from a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle upon a collision with a 1988 Toyota pickup at an intersection on southbound Watkins Road at Malton Switch Road north of Orland, according to a press release issued Monday by California Highway Patrol.

The collision remains under investigation and names of the decreased, a 43-year-old man and 59-year-old woman, are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Both individuals were from Orland.

The driver of the pickup, Kalen Souza, 20, of Willows, arrived at the Watkins Road intersection at about 50 mph, but according to CHP did not brake for the stop sign ahead. Not long after entering the intersection, the front end of Souza’s vehicle collided with the westbound Harley Davidson.

After striking the motorcycle, Souza’s vehicle overturned, resting on its top. Souza was able to extricate himself with minor injuries.
