A woman suffered serious burns after a fiery roll-over car crash Wednesday afternoon.
The police and fire departments responded to a report of a car engulfed in flames that had rolled over at the end of a street, according to police.
The car ended up in the woods at the dead end of Rogers Road and Hartford Turnpike.
When they arrived, officers found a 69-year-old woman lying next to the open driver’s door of a Hyundai Sonata. She was unresponsive and had burns on her body, police said. Fire department medics treated her and took her to Yale New Haven Hospital. She was later transferred to Bridgeport Hospital burn unit.
Police did not release the name of the woman or her condition.
