Wind Gap,PA : Motorcyclist badly hurt in Wind Gap crash on May, Friday 18th 2018
A motorcyclist was serioulsy injured Friday evening when he crashed on Wind Gap’s north side. CPR was conducted at the scene before the man was taken to a hospital.
Police, fire police and paramedics were dispatched to Alpha Road and Lehigh Avenue, Route 512, about 7:29 p.m. on a report of a motorcycle accident.
A man, described as possibly in his 40s, lay face-down and bleeding on the sidewalk along the Sunoco gas station at the intersection’s north corner. A witness said that, at least initially, the biker did not appear to be breathing.
He had no helmet. The witness said the motorcycle may have toppled when it hit a curb or a utility pole, but no other vehicle was involved. Slate Belt police still were investigating.
After the crash, the motorcycle was set up in the gas station parking lot as fire police closed off Lehigh Avenue to the northeast.
The motorcyclist was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital-Anderson, according to police radio reports. Information on his condition was not available late Friday.
