SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP, PA : 1 person dead after crash in South Whitehall on Sunday, 30th June 2019

One person has been reported dead after losing control of their car early Sunday morning in South Whitehall Township.

Jose Vazquez Guzman, 19, of Allentown, was pronounced dead at 2:05 a.m. by Lehigh Valley Deputy Coroner Rachel Tallarico.

The accident occurred at 1:17 a.m. on the ramp to Cedar Crest Boulevard from Route 22 west. Guzman's vehicle reportedly struck a guide rail.

Pursuit was reportedly initiated by Whitehall Township Police and terminated just seconds before the accident.

In addition to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office, the Pennsylvania State Police Bethlehem Barracks is conducting the investigation into the crash.
