Woodford County, KY : Two hurt in fiery crash in Woodford County Tuesday morning on July 8, 2014
Two people were injured Tuesday morning after a Woodford County collision between a passenger car and a farm tractor, Versailles police said.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, said Versailles Police Lt. Daniel Clark.
The driver of the tractor pulling a batwing mower had failed to yield the right of way when he pulled out of a private drive to cross the four lanes of U.S. 60 west of Versailles, Clark said. The four-door passenger car collided with the tractor in the westbound lanes about 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, Clark said.
The tractor overturned and caught fire, causing the tractor driver to suffer burns to his arms and back.
The driver of the car suffered broken bones, Clark said. The names of the two injured people were not immediately available.
The Woodford County Fire Department extinguished the fire.
