Moorpark, CA : Two people injured when pickup collided with a car northwest of Moorpark on Wednesday morning, Nov 25, 2015

Two people suffered moderate to serious injuries Wednesday morning when a pickup collided with a car northwest of Moorpark, authorities reported.

The collision between a Ford pickup and a Toyota Corolla was reported about 6 a.m. at Balcom Canyon and Stockton roads, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The CHP said the driver of the pickup, Ricardo Chavez, 56, of Northridge, pulled onto Balcom Canyon Road just as the Toyota was approaching.

The driver of the Toyota, Ignacio Adamelanderos, 24, of Santa Paula, suffered a broken leg and other broken bones, the CHP said. He was taken to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks.

Francisco Alcantar, 30, of Santa Paula, who was riding with Adamelanderos, also was taken to Los Robles for moderate injuries, the CHP said. Chavez was uninjured, officials said.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
