A father and son were taken to Community Hospital Anderson in unknown condition Sunday after their motorcycle collided with a car about 3:25 p.m. on Ind. 9 at John Street.
Alexandria Police Officer Michael Williams said Alexandria residents Max Parr, 51, and his son, Thomas Parr, 25, were struck when their northbound motorcycle by a Chevrolet Impala driven by Brook Kilgore, 19. An Alexandria resident, Kilgore was southbound and attempting to turn into the Super Wash car wash.
“She didn’t see the two motorcycles that were going northbound,” Williams said.
Accompanying the Parrs on a separate motorcycle was Michala Lower, 23, also of Alexandria.
The Parrs reported they had road rash and bruising, but Williams said he wasn’t certain whether they may have suffered internal injuries.
The collision was one of several motorcycle accidents around the county, including a second one earlier in the day in Alexandria, as enthusiasts took advantage of the beautiful weather.
Kevin Baker, of Alexandria-based Baker Towing, worked both accidents.
In the earlier accident, he said, the driver of a vehicle in front of the motorcyclist made a sudden stop, causing the motorcyclist to fly over the handlebars and land in the flatbed of a truck near the Casey’s convenience store on Ind. 9.
