Stallings, NC : 13-year-old boy struck, killed by car near Charlotte on Friday, January 9, 2015

Authorities say a 13-year-old boy was struck and killed by a car in the suburbs east of Charlotte.

Police told local media outlets that Chance Johnson was playing in a driveway around 7:30 p.m. Friday in Stallings when he ended up in the road and was struck.

Authorities say he died a short time later at the hospital.

Police say the driver won't be charged in the collision.
