Carson City, NV : 1 dead after 2 motorcycles collide on State Road 341 in Washoe County on Monday night, January 19, 2015

Authorities say a collision between two motorcycles killed one rider in northern Nevada.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says it happened about 4 p.m. Monday night on State Road 341, also known as Geiger Grade.

Troopers say a 35-year-old man from Reno was riding south in Washoe County when his bike crossed the center line and hit a northbound motorcycle ridden by another 35-year-old man from Reno.

Both men were thrown off and the southbound motorcyclist was flown to a hospital, where he died. His name was not immediately released.

Troopers are investigating why he veered over the center lane. The other man was hospitalized, but he is expected to recover from his injuries.
