BUNNELL, FL : Driver killed in Bunnell crash on U.S. 1 on Tuesday, 9th October 2018

Emergency crews responded to the scene of a fatal crash Tuesday in Bunnell that left a 79-year-old bunnell man dead.

The wreck occurred about 9:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of U.S. 1 just south of Whiteview Parkway, according to condition reports from Florida Highway Patrol.

Pedro Emilio Marin was behind the wheel of a southbound 2003 Ford Crown Victoria that ran off the shoulder to the right and slammed into a pole. The driver’s side of the vehicle showed substantial damage and its frame was severely caved in.

FHP troopers were on scene investigating the crash as fire crews worked to extract the deceased from the vehicle late Tuesday morning. A southbound lane of U.S. 1 remained shut down allowing emergency vehicles to work, although it did not cause traffic delays.
