An investigation is ongoing after a pedestrian was killed during a crash involving a deputy in Salisbury.
Our news partner WSOC-TV reported the accident occurred late Tuesday night, March 28.
Authorities told Channel 9 the deputy was coming home from training around 10 p.m. and driving on Rowan Mill Road. They said the deputy did not see the man walking before the collision.
The name of the man killed has not been released.
The incident is under investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
Channel 9 reported that the deputy will receive counseling before returning to work.
