SUMMIT, KY : One dead in collision in the 3700 block of Ky on Wednesday, 7th August 2019
An Ashland man was killed late Wednesday in a two-car collision in Summit, according to the Ashland post of the Kentucky State Police.
Jason G. Hall, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 3700 block of Ky. 5 by the Boyd County coroner’s office, according to state police.
The driver of the other car, Gayla Scott, 67, of Flatwoods, and a child passenger who was not identified, were taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital for treatment, according to state police.
The collision happened at about 11 p.m. when Hall failed to negotiate a left turn, hit a guardrail and went through a ditch before going back on the road and veering into the other lane where he hit Scott’s car, according to state police.
Currently no criminal charges have been filed as a result of the crash, and alcohol is a suspected contributor. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Bobby King, who was assisted on scene by Boyd County EMS, the Boyd County Coroner’s Office, Boyd County Sheriff’s Office, Summit Fire Department and Westwood Fire Department.
